Children and Family

Everyone enjoys music! We warmly invite children aged 5 and over, along with their families, to our family concerts. Anyone who wishes to do so is, of course, also welcome to attend one of our regular concerts – we’d be happy to help you choose one. You can also take a guided tour of the building with your child.

Family Concerts

For children aged 5 and over, we offer one-hour family concerts in the Chamber Music Hall – dancing and joining in are encouraged!

Who?
All concert programmes are tailored to a specific age group. We recommend bringing younger siblings only if they are already used to attending concerts. Admission is free for children aged 0–2; children aged 2–3 pay a flat rate of €5; from the age of 3, the standard children’s price applies.

The concerts are interactive and last a maximum of one hour. Should a toilet break be necessary during the concert, you may leave the hall and re-enter.

Layout?
The area closest to the stage is equipped with cushioned seats for children, whilst the rear section has chairs. Seating is unreserved for all concerts.

What should you bear in mind?
The concert hall is accessible to people with disabilities; pushchairs may be brought into the hall. There is a nappy-changing facility in the accessible toilet – please speak to the hall staff if required. Please do not consume food or drink in the hall.

Taking a child to a regular concert

Would you like to take your child to a regular concert?

Children aged 6 and over, accompanied by an adult, are very welcome at our regular concerts.

Which concert is suitable depends on your child’s prior knowledge and personality. To get started, we recommend our ‘Klassik um 6’ series. We’d be happy to advise you at the box office or by telephone on +43 (0316) 822455.

We offer a range of concessions for children and young people. You can find further information here

Guided tours with children

Our guided tours are generally designed for adults and teenagers. However, children aged 6 and over are very welcome when accompanied by an adult.
